PayUp

Terms of Use

Effective October 30, 2026

These terms apply when you use the PayUp app. By using PayUp, you agree to them. They apply together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

1. What PayUp does

PayUp is a self-control tool. It locks apps you choose, shows you a reality check before they open, and asks you to pay a price (such as waiting or doing squats) to unlock them for a short time. PayUp does not guarantee any result, such as spending less or using your phone less. Numbers shown in the app are based on what you enter and are estimates, not financial advice.

2. Exercise

If you choose squats, exercise within your own ability and stop if you feel pain or discomfort. Talk to a doctor if you're unsure whether exercise is safe for you. You use this feature at your own risk.

3. Subscriptions

4. Refunds

All payments are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. We can't issue refunds directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Screen Time limits

PayUp relies on Apple's Screen Time features. Locks may not work in every situation (for example, if Screen Time permission is turned off or Apple changes how it works), and you can remove PayUp's access in Settings at any time.

6. Your use of the app

Please don't misuse PayUp, for example by trying to reverse-engineer it, interfere with how it works, or use it to break the law. PayUp, its design, and its content belong to us.

7. No warranty and limits on liability

PayUp is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can't be changed by agreement.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
